...play MH3 online, but this time WITHOUT PAYING FOR IT!
Ha! Capcom did something right. Shame the Japanese one wasn't free. Probably a good thing though, my one wii makes such a terrible noise when playing discs these days.
I digress...
Back working through the lower difficulty quests, looking forward to when I can hunt Evil Joe once again. Looks like a good few weeks, if not months yet.

MH3 online - DOs and DON'Ts
Okay, with the English-speaking world now getting into MH3 and the online servers being up from today (apparently) I thought it wise to point out a few things that should be remembered when playing with others.
DO
+ Know your enemy. Google is there for a reason!
+ Ask if you don't know what a good strategy is. If people laugh at you just walk away. They're blatantly c*nts that you don't really want to play with anyway.
+ Use a variety of weapons and armour.
+ Change weapons before joining a quest, and take a weapon that has an elemental association that the monster you'll be fighting is weak against (if you have one).
+ Grab as much stuff from around the field as you can as you'll need it.
+ Use the offline farm to grow stuff - honey is the #1 most important. I grow seeds to make money and would advise you to do the same.
+ Same goes for the fishing boats, ALWAYS have them out fishing.
+ Trade for items with the visiting trader.
+ Only buy stuff from the shop in the village when the trader is there - 50% off will save you a LOT of money.
+ Bowgunners, read the above again. THIS MEANS YOU.
+ Take what you need. As a rule of thumb, take both lots of healing potion, that dust that heals the whole party, hot drinks AND cold drinks, and always take Great Picks with you to get ore. These are needed for fighting Jien Moran as well. When you get that far.
DON'T
- DON'T TRY TO FIGHT EVIL JOE yet. His missions are 6*. You cannot win if you're not AT LEAST HR40+, and even then you may well get wasted.
- Hit your fellow hunters while they're trying to do damage to the beasties.
- Get cocky. That'll get you killed and maybe everyone in your party.
- Play online with a weapon you've never used before against a monster you've never fought before. This should be obvious. WAKE UP FOOL!
- Be an arse. Players want to have a good time while fighting monsters, they don't want to be insulted by little shits who need a good slapping.
- Expect miracles. Being a good hunter takes time, practice and experience.
If I think of more I'll post them up later on. Happy hunting folks.
